2011/12 NCWRC Permit Hunts

General Hunts

Johns River Tier III

During the Tier III Handicapped hunt, sportsmen and their companions rotate between Hunt Master Lifts like the one shown here and wooden, ground based box blinds positioned at well prepared food plots. Hunters are able to drive their vehicles up to and along side the hunting blinds.

Click on a species above for a list of the available hunts available under the General Hunts. Tundra Swan and Geese will be listed under the waterfowl group. The available hunts will appear on the left. Then click on the different available hunts for specific information related to the item number for that hunt, who is eligible, deadline to apply, hunt date choices, weapons allowed, if it is a party hunt and how many members are allowed.

Below this information will also be displayed a description of the area and other valuable information related to the location of the hunt.

You should then pick the item numbers of the hunts you would like to apply for and then pick the hunt date choice numbers. Some hunts may allow for as many as five hunt date choices. These should be picked in the order of the preference that you would prefer to go based on the dates of the hunt.

MPORTANT: This information does not serve as a regulatory guide and is compiled from the 2011/12 Permit Hunts Publication as an aid to the hunting public. Hunters and trappers should always refer to the North Carolina Inland Fishing, Hunting and Trapping Regulations Digest for regulations and local laws.
